01. Introduction

Many companies are using a Unified Endpoint Management system to manage and protect their devices. But there are many reasons why it may be necessary to change from one UEM system to another: Further development of technologies may lead to another system being better able to meet your requirements than the previous one or better interact with other software. Another system offering the same features as the previous one may be cheaper. A company acquisition may lead to the situation that several UEM systems are in use in a group and consolidation makes sense. Or a UEM system may no longer be supported, so that it may be necessary to switch to another system.

Changing the UEM system is a challenge for many companies and seems to require a lot of effort. But with the EBF Onboarder, the EBF has developed a tool which makes it possible to migrate devices from one source UEM system to another target UEM system in a largely automated manner. The EBF Onboarder provides an easy-to-use interface for migrations from multiple UEM systems to all leading UEM systems and allows users to migrate their device with just a few clicks.

This documentation provides you with information about the EBF Onboarder, its prerequisites and the whole migration project. It describes how you can setup a migration project, how you can setup invitation emails and reminders which guide your users through the migration and it also tells you how to initiate the migration process and how to track the migration status.

ATTENTION:

  • For the target systems Jamf Pro/School, MaaS360, Microsoft Intune, MobileIron and VMware Workspace ONE there are separate documentations available which are important to read in addition to this one. You can find them here.
  • For the source systems BlackBerry UEM Cloud, Jamf Pro/School, MaaS360, Microsoft Intune, MobileIron and VMware Workspace ONE there are separate documentations available which are important to read in addition to this one. You can find them here.
