How to manage lists for not allowed (black list) or only allowed apps (white list).
The mymo list is also created and managed here.

Notes:

  • Compliance Actions must have been created already
  • Disable/Enable an App List when you remove an app from the list.

App Lists Search

Within App Lists, you can use the search at the top right to find a list.

The overview of the lists shows whether a list is activated or deactivated without opening the list.

New App List

Blacklist

Name: Assign a name, like „BlackList“
Type: BlackList
Label: Selection of the label

After creation, the app list can be opened for configuration.
The „Actions“ button offers the following options:

Add App

Add apps to the list whose use should be prevented.

These apps added here will not be included in the MIDA App Catalog.

Add Bundle ID/Identifier:

  • Enter the ID in the Bundle ID / Identifier field.
  • The input must not contain spaces or other characters not used in BundleIDs.
  • Click Add.
    • If the input is valid, the ID is added to the list below.
    • If the input is not valid, a corresponding message is displayed.
    • If the IDs have been added, clicking OK adds the IDs to the app list.

Cancel does not make any changes to the app list.

Hint: Clicking on an ID in the Add window removes the ID.

An app in an app list added using the BundleID feature will show this icon:

Configure compliance actions

Here you can select the actions that will be applied when an app in this list is found on a device. These actions must have been created beforehand.

Rename App List

Change the name of an App List:
From 3.0.0 on it is also possible to rename an App List.
Steps:
Open an App List, click on the Edit icon next to the name, enter the new name and press the little checkbox or press Enter.
MIDA will display a confirmation popup:

Press Yes to save the changes.

Whitelist

Only the apps specified in the whitelist will be allowed on the devices. In case of violation, the configured compliance actions are applied. Further configuration steps are equal to the blacklist. In blacklists and whitelists, the icons and app names cannot be edited. By default, an app list is not active and can therefore be prepared. Afterwards, the app list can be switched on via „Activate list“. Within an app list you can deactivate or activate a list.

Details about the compliance check are explained in more detail in the appendix.

MYMO app list

From a technical perspective, it is a white/mymo list with no compliance action.

Important:

No compliance action can be assigned to a mymo app list.

During a migration, a mymo list may have already been created for the institute and assigned to the label <TenantID><Label Name>, thus all devices with this label receive the required information.

If you want certain users to see additional icons in the mymo app (these users are assigned to a configuration label), you can create a new mymo list that is assigned to this label.

  • Add desired apps
  • Set the sorting of the apps via the +/- buttons.
  • if necessary change the icons of the apps(1024×1024 pixel since 2.6.0)
  • Adjust the names of the apps if necessary

Check and activate list

Note:
Apps that are to be displayed to all users on the devices must have the label: “MYMO_ALL_USERS”
